Places of interest in east Bali

Obviously there are many places of interest which makes it impossible to name them all and to be able to give good information it is our idea that we should actually visit these places to be able to give good information. Therefore, below a list of the places we visited and where more will follow in the future.

Kintamani, the area around the Batur vulcano
Is the area around the Batur vulcano and Lake Batur, it is also a village and a sub district of Bangli region.

Tukad Cepung waterfall
A very nice waterfall different than the standard one, here are wet feet garanteed.

Kerta Gosa
A place of history in the village of Klungkung.

Goa Lawah
Also known as the bat cave located in Klungkung region.

Lempuyang temple
Famous temple on the outskirts of the Gunung Agung.

Taman Ujung
The official name of this waterpalace is Taman Soekasada Ujung and is located in the village of Tumbu (Karangasem).

Tirta Gangga
One of the many waterpalaces in the region of Karangasem, Tirta Gangga is located in the village of Ababi.

Pura Kehen
A temple in the village of Cempaga (Bangli).

Amed
This is a village in the east of Bali is well known for it options for snorkeling and diving.

Tenganan village
One of the Bali Aga villages close to Candidasa.

Padangbai
The gateway to the Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno) and to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, also the slow ferry to Lombok leaves from Padangbai.

Pura Besakih
The mother of all temples.

Sibetan Rice Terrace
One of the many rice terraces of Karangasem.

Lahangan Sweet
A view point on the valley and the Agung.

Blue Lagoon
A nice part just next to Padangbai famous for the snorkeling.

Bali Bird Park
A nice bird park with 250 different kinds of birds.

Gili Trawangan
The biggest of the island group known as the Gili Islands.

Nusa Penida
We choose to add Nusa Penida to this part because it is a part of the Klungkung Region. It is the biggest island of 3 islands which are close together, Nusa Penida is all about high cliffs, snorkeling and adventure and for sure worth a visit.

Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan
These two islands are part of the group of 3 together with Nusa Penida located south of Bali.
