Taman Ujung

The official name is Taman Soekasada Ujung Water Palace and is located in the village of Tumbu, in Karangasem Regency.

Ujung Karangasem Water Palace was built by the King of Karangasem I Gusti Bagus Jelantik, whose titled as Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. The construction of Taman Ujung was completed in 1921 involving Dutch, Chinese and Balinese architects.
This palace is actually the development from Dirah Pool which has been built in 1901. The construction was completed in 1921.
It is a perfect place to enjoy 3 beauties, namely the natural panorama of Bali’s beaches, mountains, and beautiful gardens.

It was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963 and earthquake in 1975, but because of the historical value totally renovated, the renovation was finished in 2003.

The name ‘Ujung’, means ‘extremity’ in Indonesian, and it often makes it easy for locals to describe its location as being one of the island’s largest historical landmarks and places of interest in the eastern part of the island.

It is a nice and quiet place and you can make a nice walk here, especially when you decided to go up where you have a nice view over the ocean.
