Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga Water Palace was built in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. The purpose was to built as a bathing place for the king and his family. Previously, only the king and his family could enter the Tirta Gangga Water Palace. Over time, the Tirta Gangga Water Palace began to be opened to the public and became one of the favorite tourist attractions in Karangasem. 
Tirta Gangga is located in the village of Ababi.

Upon entering the location of the Tirta Gangga Water Palace, the first thing you’ll see is two large ponds filled with ornamental fish the size of an adult’s hand. The first pool on the east side is decorated by statues lined up. You can walk along the pond by walking on solid rock arranged neatly like a path.

Tirta Gangga Water Palace is a maze of pools and fountains, surrounded by beautifully kept gardens and many stone carvings and statues.

It is a very nice place, it is not big so don’t expect to spent lot of time there.

The entrance fee is IDR 90.000 for an adult, and IDR 35.000 for a child until 12 years, children under 5 years can go in for free. There is also a swimming pool which costs IDR 10.000 and when you want to take the boat it costs IDR 20.000. If you want to feed the Koi fish in the pond you can buy this for IDR 10.000.
Tirta Gangga is open daily from 8am to 5pm.
