This temple is a famous one, it is a beautiful complex located in the village of Tri Buana on the slope of Mount Lempuyang in Karangasem, east Bali.
The temple complex, consisting of 7 temples, is considered to be one of the six holiest worshipped places in Bali.
Most tourist will not visit the higher located temples and often it is not allowed to do so and only the lowest part is open for tourists, here you will find the so called Gate of Heaven, famous from the Instagram hype. But to get the “magic Instagram” picture with the mirror you need to wait in a long line which can go up to 3 hours of waiting, also you need to be there very early in case you want to go for the Instagram picture, especially in the peak season arriving at 7 am is too late.
So here is it how it goes when you arrive:
First you enter the minibus terminal, before heading to Lempuyang Temple, the return ticket price is IDR 50.000 per person, with the minibus you go up the trip takes about 5 minutes to the Lempuyang Temple, here you buy the entrance ticket, IDR 75.000 per person and also here you get a sarong and the ticket to take photos at the Lempuyang Temple gate of heaven. From the entrance booth you have to walk up a bit or you can rent a motorbike to get to the entrance of the temple, the walk is about 150 meter but it goes uphill.
If you dont want to wait in line try to get the picture of the reality.
The lowest area of the temple is accesible for the tourists but in some cases you are allowed to get to the higher located temples but only under guidance of the local people.
