Tigawasa is a village in the mountains, 25 minutes southwest of Lovina. The area is known for the many trade in bamboo, the road to it is beautiful one leading through the forests and mountains, the location of the village Tigawasa is about 900 meters above sea level and the climate is cool. When you arrive chances are that you will be welcomed by Switi.

Here, at Kejapa Bamboo Craft, you will be welcomed by Gede Widarma with coffee, pisang goreng with palm syrup and palm sugar, worth to mention is that they have a different way of drinking coffee here most of the time the sugar is in the coffee but not here, you will get small lumps of soft palm sugar which you need to melt in your mouth and then drink the coffee, the coffee they grow and roast themselves. It is possible to buy coffee beans or grinded coffee.
They have a special area where they can also receive groups, the house is made of bamboo and there are large tables where you can enjoy the coffee (or lemon grass tea) and the fresh pisang goreng.

There are several activities which can be done, people can just visit for coffee and pisang goreng, there is also an option to get a workshop how to weave the bamboo baskets, (these baskets are used with the ceremony) and here you can learn how to do this, it is also possible to have a basket with your name and these can be made on order.

Another activity is a tour through the organic garden, behind the house there is an organic garden. This garden is more like a small jungle, they will provide you Soffel for the mosquitoes and you will get a walking tour through the organic garden which looks more like a small jungle. Because the garden is on different levels there are few stairs, the path is made of old car tires and the centre is filled with cement and it is a pretty big garden with lots of trees, plants and flowers.
All kinds of things grow here in the wild, the most beautiful flowers, red and green peppers, cloves, vanilla, banana, wild pineapple, coffee plants and Gede will show you around and will let you smell different herbs and tells you everything you want to know about what is growing here.

They are also roasting their own coffee, Kejapa coffee and coffee powder is good for the face, at least that is what they tell you and this is resulting in coffee faces.
The weaving of baskets workshop, the walk through the garden is also fun and educational for children.

You can also stay for lunch, it is obvious you should book this in advance.
